Attendants are responsible for ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining a hazard-free environment. This includes, but is not limited to:
Accident Prevention:
- Identifying and addressing potential hazards, such as wet floors or misplaced items.
- Regularly inspecting equipment such as wheelchairs, lifts, and walkers for functionality.
- Prevent falls and injuries by maintaining clear pathways, ensuring residents wear proper footwear, and providing direct supervision during mobility-related tasks.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Participating in fire drills and understanding evacuation routes and protocols.
- Knowing the location and proper use of emergency equipment, including fire extinguishers and first aid kits.
- Handling various disaster scenarios, including earthquakes, floods, severe storms, and power outages.
- Identifying and mitigating potential hazards, such as overloaded electrical outlets, improperly stored chemicals, and blocked emergency exits
Infection Control:
- Adhering to hygiene protocols, including frequent handwashing and the use of gloves when necessary.
- Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and equipment to prevent the spread of infections.
